Over the years, the
Mantua Township Police Department have seen significant increases in
the level of use of drugs and violent activities exhibited by our
youths. The Police Department is committed to seeking out programs
such as Drug Abuse Resistance
Education program (D.A.R.E.), Operation AWARE, and others, to be a
pro-active force to improve the quality of life and to make our
neighborhoods safe for our kids. With the help of our community,
parents, teachers and administrators, we are able to provide our
Township youth with the knowledge and wisdom to avoid conflicts such
as drugs and violence.
As times change,
so does the D.A.R.E. curriculum. With the increase of violence
involving children, students, and school situations, D.A.R.E. has
been updated to deal with the violence and ways to handle and/or
avoid it.
