Mantua Township Parks

   Mantua Township has two public parks: Chestnut Branch Park and Ceres Park.  Both Parks are located on Main Street, approximately 3 miles apart. 

  

Chestnut Branch Park has many activities for the whole family. Applications for use of the Park for organizations and special events are available in the Clerk's Office.   The park is open from Dawn till 10 PM.  (Directions)  If you have questions about reserving the park for an event, please email Bill Pine, Park Director.

Ceres Park Nature Preserve is 52.75 acres.  Walking/jogging trails lead down to the Chestnut Branch of Mantua Creek.  It is located on Main Street (Alt. Rt. 553) approximately 3 miles from Chestnut Branch Park.  Click on the link to view pictures and to view a PDF Guide and Map to the trails.  The Guide may also be obtained in the Township Clerk's Office.

You will find the following at the Chestnut Branch Park:

Walking/jogging trails  (Bicycles permitted on trails)  The wide trail is 3400 L.F long;  the narrow trail is 3100 L.F (Linear feet);  the perimeter is 1 1/4 miles long.  Trails are lighted at night.
Tot Lots for children to climb, slide, or swing.
Tennis Courts.
Roller Hockey Rink.
Beach Volleyball Courts.
Public Rest Rooms.
Pavilion.
Bank-shot Basketball Court. (For security reasons, the Bank-shot Basketball Court may be locked. If it is locked please contact the Clerk’s Office to sign out the key.)

A concession stand is usually open, at Chestnut Branch Park, during league games such as soccer and football. The Township Committee and asks that when you visit the Park you abide by the Park Rules listed below:

No pets.
No alcohol.
No littering or dumping.
No ATVs, snowmobiles, or dirt bikes.
No hunting.
No fires (without permit).
No golf.

Chestnut Branch Park has a New Sign!  This state of the art sign is programmable to inform residents of events happening at the park.
