Mantua Township's Environmental Commission (the "EC") has been hard at work ensuring Mantua Township remains a great place to live, work and play.  Recently the EC received grant funds and in-kind services to have the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) conduct a Resource Inventory and Open-Space Plan for the whole Township.  This plan determined what environmental assets are in our Township.

You can view the Mantua Twp Environmental Resource Inventory here.  (Note:  This is a PDF file and is large.  It may take a few minutes to load)

With the aid of state funding, the EC has also completed the resource study of Ceres Park (the nature and recreation park located off the south end of Main Street).  The EC has received an inventory, including great pictures of all key plant and wildlife in the park, to determine what is in the park and what needs protection.  The EC has provided the community with trail maps, along with providing trail markers to identify the different types of trees and plants.  The EC anticipates these maps and "marked" trails will be utilized by local schools, scout troops and other groups as a learning tool.   Click on the link above to view this Guide and Map.
